Conservation awareness workshop organised by KPCRC-SLEP

Last month, the dedicated research assistants of KPCRC and SLEP had the privilege of hosting an engaging workshop for our local community in collaboration with the esteemed temple school. This event marked the beginning of what we hope will be a series of enlightening workshops aimed at fostering a deeper connection between our organization and the community we serve.

Through an array of interactive activities including games, colouring sessions, captivating posters, and informative presentations, we had the pleasure of immersing the children in the wonders of Sri Lankan wildlife. Witnessing the curiosity and enthusiasm of the young participants was truly inspiring as they eagerly embraced the opportunity to learn about their natural surroundings.

We are particularly thrilled by the prospect of igniting a passion for wildlife conservation in the hearts of these bright young minds. Who knows? Perhaps among them lies a future wildlife researcher or conservationist, ready to embark on a journey of discovery and preservation. As we reflect on the success of this workshop, we are reminded of the importance of community engagement in our conservation efforts. By nurturing a sense of environmental stewardship within our local community, we can work together to safeguard the rich biodiversity of Sri Lanka for generations to come.

Stay tuned for updates on future workshops and events as we continue our mission to protect and preserve the natural treasures of our beloved island. Together, we can make a difference!
